Sunday's family get-together was a rousing success, as usual. To those who were there, it was good to see you. To those who weren't, we missed you. Aiden put in his first appearance at an official Jeppsen gathering, and although Cooper couldn't make it, he's now at home and doing well, with two experienced parents and two enthusiastic brothers to look over him.
Last night, Shelly, Andria, and I had a nice little "wow-we're-all-getting-older" conversation, which led me to realize that a family newsletter is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Not because there's nobody willing to make one, but because there's nobody left with enough time to do so. All of us cousins are busy with school, work, and (in some cases) families of our own. And whether or not they'll admit it, our parents are getting old and don't have the same energy and mental capacity they once did.
So, I've decided to set up a family blog, which will serve as a sort of self-updating family newsletter. To those of you who are unfamiliar with the blog-o-sphere, don't worry. All you need to do is set up your own (free) Blogger account here. Once you've done that, send me your account name so I can authorize you to write on this blog, and that's it.
Like some of you, I already keep my own personal blog, and I will continue to do so. My hope for this one is that it will be a hub for family-related information. If you do something interesting, let us know about it. If you have some good pictures, share them with us. If you're coming to town for a few days, announce it here. You don't have to write a lot, but don't be a stranger. This is an easy way for us all to stay close as we move farther apart geographically.
Talk is cheap, but web space is free.
If you already have your own web page, blog, myspace account, etc., send me the address. As soon as I can figure out how, I'll post the links to everybody's personal sites.
And that's it for now. Get your account names to me asap. And once you've found this site, leave a comment so we know you've been through.
Remember, this blog will only be as good as we make it.

I think this is a great idea.
Second. Good work :).
Me too :) Thanks Eric!
I think we've been slandered :)
Great idea anyway!
I am deeply offend by the reference to age and mental state. It is a great idea, with some editing for the older crowd.
