It's Your Day, Sean...

We're posting this a day early since we will be away from the computer tomorrow, but JULY 12.......

It's your day, Sean! Happy Birthday!!!
Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Today is Grandpa’s birthday. Although he may not physically be with us just now we all look forward to seeing him again someday and we can certainly celebrate his birthday. We can never forget the wonderful times that we had with him and the example he was to each of us. All that he taught us will stay with us throughout our lives. Time marches on through the seasons of our lives but we always have our memories. When it really comes down to it, it’s family that matters most. These are the people who love us inspite of our faults and shortcommings. Let us each live our lives so that Grandpa will be proud of us. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA! WE LOVE YOU!

Here are a few pictures that may stir some memories. Have a great day and remember we are a family!!

Amy and Eric get chased by the "Bear"! I thought there were NO bears out tonight!

Grandpa watches cautiously over a little Brighton.

Grandpa and Grandma in Arizona to visit Brenda.

Some California yard work.

We all get together and then some.

If there's that much snow here, think what there must be at Alta! Wax those boards!

How about that babe? Do you think Grandpa's keeping an eye on her or do you think she's keeping an eye on Grandpa these days?

I would have put on more pictures but as you can see, I'm still developing my skills here. Oh well, at least I tried (hint, hint to those of you yet to do squat on the family blog). Love you all!!

Aaarrrggghhh!

The California Jeppsens have a kitchen remodel going on. Here's a progress report (for anyone who's interested!).

The kitchen is cleaned out and ready for demolition (except for that drawer of pans that the workers found the next day and handed to a sheepish Colette).

Our temporary "kitchen" in the family room.

End of day one.

Stan in old bath/new laundry room. Colette in kitchen. End of day two!

We're having
"fun!" Stay
tuned...

As record temps are hitting the west...I feel extremely lucky to be the one of the few in our extended family to enjoy the east. The weather has been good here despite the humidity. But, in the west wildfires seem to be sprouting up everywhere. Places like I never expect to hear...mainly Utah, one near St. George the other just east of Salt Lake. Hope all who live in the areas have a good view because I know how fun they are to watch. However, the smoke is never fun. We have a fire out here thats been burning for about two weeks. You wont hear of it on the news because its gov't property...but it gets pretty bad. The smoke has returned to my base and about 5 AM every morning we get covered in wildfire smoke like a thick coastal fog. (I work graveyard now, so when that smoke comes we have to go inside...because it becomes hard to breathe.)

Anyways, as all these wildfires start I wonder, is the cali Jeppsens back yard (hillside behind home) going to burn... I dont think it has since we moved there and it's seemed ready to go for quite awhile. Lets all keep our fingers crossed...but if it does, a lot of those trails in the hills will be nice and clear of all the random brush disrupting mtn biking...so maybe... lets for pray the hills to burn (at least me, but no houses), it'd make awesome pics if anything.

Anyways, I'm trying to keep this thing alive again...two posts in a row from me. Where is everyone at? Random thoughts, vacation pics, funny stories of your life, random thoughts, ideas for the reunion, wierd news you read, new car you bought, good movie/book you saw/read, ...anything! Throw it on here.

From Florida, I miss y'all, cant wait to see you in 2 months.

We went camping Friday. It was fun. Todd's is 4-whelling, Jerolyn rock climbing, a mining we went through that you had to honk to get help, and a beautiful fire. I have not seen any blogs from the Martins or the Bisesingers?

We've been busy...

Amy has already posted some pics from our VERY fun trip to Maui (next time we'll take the boys--we hope). Here's just a couple more...

Amy and Colette on West Maui

Kelsey and Stan in Lahaina (note the listing boat--it capsized, wasn't righted in time and now is not allowed to be moved so it doesn't upset the ecology. Crazy!).

OUR TRIP TO VISIT SEAN IN FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA

We had a great time visting Sean in Florida. Who knew it was such a resort area. Sean's had a tough time in the military so far...Monterey, California; (we won't mention the brief stop in Texas); Fort Walton Beach, Florida...tough life!

Picking out our kayaks on the Air Force's private beach and rental center (we felt so special)!

You can go to Sean's blog to see us in action (we actually looked like we knew what we were doing).

At the "tank graveyard." This place was amazing. Sean and his buddy discovered this place. Old tanks as far as you could see on an old abandoned air field. We decided they must be the tanks used for AC-130 target practice. Anyway, it was a kick climbing on all the old tanks (and a few old airplanes, trucks, etc.).
Here's Sean slacklining by a pretty lake (also on Air Force property).

At the air museum. This is similar to the plane that Sean works on .

Finally, here's Sean's baby (truck) in his housing parking lot.

We had a great time. What a beautiful base in a beautiful location. Of course the temps were in the 70s with NO humidity. Maybe we wouldn't be so impressed if we were to be there right now!

ERIC'S RACE IN PESCADERO, CALIFORNIA (on the coast just south of San Francisco)

Getting ready to race. Brrrrr....it was cold!

The Pro/Cat1/Cat2 pelaton. They went by SO fast, I'm not sure I actually caught Eric, but you get the picture. Then there's Stan in the bottle pass-off (Do you want water or gatorade?!!!! Water, I mean gatorade! Ooops, too late.)
There's Colette hard at work. Note the fashionable color coordination.

The race is over...

Finally, dinner and a car tour or San Francisco (one lame passenger and one VERY tired one).
